If there is one word that could be used to describe this week’s best saves, it would be “unique.” Carey Price and Carter Hutton battle for the top spot with two of the most creative, and interesting saves you will see this entire season. It’s hard to believe another week has gone by and it’s already time for the NHL saves of the week from February 2nd to 8th: #10 Michal Neuvirth – Buffalo Sabres #9 Frederik Andersen – Anaheim Ducks #8 Semyon Varlamov – Colorado Avalanche #7 James Reimer – Toronto Maple Leafs #6 Marc-André Fleury – Pittsburgh Penguins...Read More

Due to the all-star break, InGoal’s NHL saves of the week were put on hold. Hope you didn’t miss it too much! The goalies did not have a lot of fun in what turned out to be the highest scoring all-star game in NHL history, but they got their revenge when the real games resumed. Tuukka Rask made what is most likely his best save of the year, and Michael Hutchinson continues to be on fire for the Winnipeg Jets. It was a fun week, so enjoy the best saves from January 19th to February 1st: #10 Anton Khudobin...Read More
Dominik Hašek’s storied career ended almost seven years ago, but his legacy continues to grow as he was recently elected into to the Hockey Hall of Fame and had his jersey retired in Buffalo last week. Hašek was a late bloomer that didn’t make the trip to North America or play in an NHL game until he was 26 years...Read More
What a week for goalies! Last week Joni Ortio was called up by the Flames and promptly shut out the Canucks. This week he started two more games and won them both – making two great saves that appear on this week’s list. Anton Khudobin made a huge diving save with his arm, but Kari Lehtonen makes an even better save by robbing Marian Hossa on the goal line. Check out all of these saves and more in the NHL saves of the week for January 12th to 18th: #10 Joni Ortio – Calgary Flames #9 Jonathan Bernier –...Read More
After this week, it may be easier to just start posting a separate top ten list for Jonathan Quick, because he makes three appearances. Pekka Rinne’s incredible behind-the-back save could only crack the top three, and don’t forget about Michal Neuvirth’s goal line glove save! It’s a jam packed week. Check out the NHL saves of the week for January 5th to 11th: #10 Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings #9 Semyon Varlamov – Colorado Avalanche #8 Brian Elliott – St. Louis Blues #7 Carey Price – Montreal Canadiens #6 Braden Holtby – Washington Capitals #5 Jonathan Quick –...Read More
