Shots on Goal: Bruins topple Philly, 6-3

Four second period goals by the Boston Bruins fueled their 6-3 victory Saturday afternoon over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. For some reason the Bruins are a better team on the road than on home ice. Saturday’s contest started out looking like it was going to be another rough day when Flyers winger Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored on a tip-in a mere 2:05 into the game. Shots on Goal: Anaheim Takes Down Bruins 4-3

The Anaheim Ducks overcame an early 2-0 deficit to come back and beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 Thursday night at the TD Garden. Boston jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with scores from Zdeno Chara and Austin Czarnik. Chara’s goal, his first in 22 games, was a blast from the point that beat Duck’s netminder Jonathan Bernier high glove side. Just 13 seconds later, Bruin’s center Austin Czarnik lit the lamp with a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle, that snuck inside the left post. Shots on Goal: Bruins over Hurricanes, 2-1 in Shootout.

Thursday night the Boston Bruins overcame a 1-0 deficit in the final minute to send the game into overtime and eventually winning it 2-1 in a shootout with the Carolina Hurricanes. Cam Ward  looked like he had the win in hand as time wound down in the third period. Boston wasn’t able to generate any offense all night, and Carolina’s one-goal lead looked insurmountable. A defensive-minded Bruins team showed up at the TD Garden last night, and helped propel Boston to a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. After being shutout the previous game by the Minnesota Wild, The first period of this game was looking very similar, with plenty of scoring opportunities and nothing to show for it. Shots on Goal: Panthers upend Bruins, 4-1

The Florida Panthers handed the Boston Bruins their fifth straight loss Thursday night at the TD Garden in Boston, 4-1. Florida’s win puts them back on top of the Atlantic Division. Boston’s scoring woes continue to haunt them as of late with Ryan Spooner being the lone goal scorer for the Bruins.
