Many of us grew up on Saturday mornings reaching for the cartoon section of the paper. I was thrilled then when Jay DeMarco, who writes Small Saves, offered to do a regular piece for all the goalies and goalie fans reading inGoal Magazine. So as long as Jay can keep them coming, look forward to Saturday morning goalie fun right here. I asked Jay to introduce himself to all of you:

“Hi Goalies. My name is Jay DeMarco and I’m the creator of Small Saves. I was 5 when I became a goaltender. My hometown was Watertown, MA. I currently live in Boston. Like many goalies, I started puckstopping via street, pond and youth hockey. My inspiration was Tony Esposito.

When not kicking out pucks, or drawing, I can be found training, Silkscreening & printing goalie t-shirts. It’s a great feeling knowing that other goalies and people in general smile & laugh when reading Small Saves. Thank you for following him.”
