NHL Saves of the Week: December 7 – 13

NHL Saves of the Week: December 7 – 13

The holiday break is almost upon us, and the NHL season is already ten weeks old. Time flies when you’re making saves!

This week’s list of the top saves features saves from two of the league’s most acrobatic goaltenders, Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals and Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings. The list is also rounded out by saves from two different Montreal Canadiens goaltenders – and neither of them is named Carey Price! Just another crazy week in the world of NHL goaltending.

Enjoy those saves and more in the NHL tops saves of the week for December 7th to 13th:

#10
Reto Berra – Colorado Avalanche

Berra1

Berra stretches out the pad and just gets enough to keep it out!

#9
Cory Schneider – New Jersey Devils

Schneider1

Great push off the post by Schneider to get a pad across.

#8
Roberto Luongo – Florida Panthers

Luongo1 (2)

Who needs a stick when you have two pads on, right Roberto?

#7
Mike Condon – Montreal Canadiens

Condon1

Condon picks a good time to be aggressive and come out at the shooter.

#6
Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings

Quick2

It seems like Jonathan Quick makes a blocker save like this every single week.

#5
Dustin Tokarski – Montreal Canadiens

Tokarski1

Not exactly how they would teach it at goalie school, but Tokarski gets it done!

#4
Marc-Andre Fleury – Pittsburgh Penguins

Fleury1

Super stretch from Marc-Andre Fleury! If you didn’t know already: He’s flexible.

#3
Roberto Luongo – Florida Panthers

Luongo1

Luongo’s second appearance on this week’s list, so you can guess what kind of year he’s having.

#2
Braden Holtby – Washington Capitals

Holtby1

Holtby gets a bit of help from his d-man on this play, but still a great save!

#1
Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings

Quick1

It’s not often that shootout saves even make it onto the list, but it’s not often you see behind-the-back glove saves, either!
