Stanley Cup Playoff Saves of the Week: May 23 – 29

The Stanley Cup final is set! Matt Murray and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be facing Martin Jones and the San Jose Sharks for the greatest prize in all sports. The two goaltenders have played exceptionally well up to this point, and it should be a fantastic series for lovers of goaltending to watch.

The St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning have been unfortunately eliminated, despite getting quality goaltending as well. Andrei Vasilevskiy tried his best to save the day after Ben Bishop’s injury, but couldn’t finish the job. Brian Elliott briefly lost his job to Jake Allen, who couldn’t turn around the series like head coach Ken Hitchcock planned.

Enjoy all of the best saves from those goalies this past week in the Stanley Cup playoff saves for May 23rd to 29th!

Lots of love for Jac

Lots of love for Jacob Markstrom’s beautiful new Bauer Vapor 1X custom graphics, but did you know he wasn’t really the first to wear it? When we talked to him around Christmas about the custom design we knew was coming, he said it was already on the pads worn by fellow Swede Filip Gustavsson at the World Junior Hockey championships. Look closely at the background graphic of Gustavsson’s pads (scroll through) and other than eliminating the solid block on the top corners, looks like he was right. Still gorgeous though. #InGoalisInTheRoom
