Today marks one year before the opening of the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia. Everyone seems to be running stories naming their teams for the games. We’ll do the same, but of course with a little slant for the goalies. Each day we’ll run a poll asking you to name three goaltenders for each country in the men’s Olympic tournament.

Today we’ll begin with my home country, Canada. Most prognostticators are picking Brodeur and Luongo for the top two spots, with a few different options like Turco, Mason or Price being thrown in the three spot.

What do you think?

Please select three of the goalies in the poll below – if you want a write in or want to tell us how you arrived at your selections, please click the link to add a comment!

  1. Let’s get the comments rolling!

I love Luongo and Brodeur and hope Mason continues on the pace he has set for himself, putting him in to get experience for the future.

  2. Paul Read says:

Luongo deserves his shot to be the starter for Canada. He’s always played well on the international stage and I would love to see him backstop Canada to the gold. Can’t get any better than Brodeur as a backup. I think if they were choosing the team today, Mason would probably get the nod. Makes him an easy choice considering how Price is playing thesedays.
