One of my favorites is how Brodeur tells why a goaltender should never apologize, no matter how badly he played. It always bugged my teammates when the goalie sharing my net apologized after every game, taking all the blame. A goalie should not show his weakness or sad emotions to anyone. Hockey is a very mental game. Once you get into someone’s head, they lose focus and can’t play as well.

What a great accomplishment!
I can’t wait until the 2nd edition. I loved the way he dealt with Sean Avery and when he plays with that edge. The ability of of Brodeur to play both a stand-up type style and a butterfly shows just how versatile he is. He is an iron horse and such a smart man in the crease.
His records have been earned and history will prove out how great he is. When people reminisce about how “they were there” when he broke this or that record or won this or that game you’ll see how the numbers don’t add up to the attendance and no arena could hold all of his fans that night.

May your last win be a long way away Mr. Martin Brodeur!

i was there for his record breaking win and the cermoeny the other night it was great and marty is the man…hopefully will win the cup this year that would be nice

It has been an honor to watch Martin Brodeur all these years. Now he truly stands at the pinnacle of greatness. The stats do not lie, and Marty is the greatest goaltender to ever play the game. His style is one of a kind and watching him play is second to none. There are great goaltenders, and then there is Martin Brodeur.

Everyone must agree that Brodeur will never quit. He always trys his hardest to stop a goal. He has the talent, the athleticism and most of all, he has the heart to win.

I got Marty’s book when it first came out … thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a section that I need to go back and find where he explains how he has 3-4 specific kinds of shots. He explains all of them except for one, and I wonder if that was on purpose? Something tricky he doesn’t want to leak out?
