It wasn’t long ago that we brought you Giggy’s new mask that he first wore with the Leafs. FX Allaire had created an Ice Age theme for him.

Apparently Giggy wanted to return to his usual artist. Marlene Ross of Brockville ,Ontario has created this beautiful overlaid Leafs theme. In Giggy’s own words, “Another great work of art in a long line of mask designs Marlene has created for me.”

What do you think? Leafs or Ice Age?

    Plain..blah

    Here’s my two cents:
Ditto on the “blah” from the last reader. While I feel that some mask designs are too busy and therefore lacking in distinctiveness, it is just my personal opinion that Ross’s designs are truly quite dull…

There are so many artists doing creative and original work. Let democracy rule- continue to give these newcomers equal space!

The leafy design is a minimal one but it stands head and shoulders over the icy design which looks like it was designed and drawn by a seven year old. With crayons. On a tight deadline.

I agree 100% with blake, I hated the Ice Age design. It was juvenile and just looked ridiculous, I don’t blame Giguere for getting a new one. This one is simple and definitely not my favorite NHL mask but it is far better than his first.

I really like this mask and it is one of my favorite all-time TML masks. Sure its simple but the flow of the different blues and the whites is just awesome. thats the way i like my hockey team logo’s nice and simple, like the leafs, not busy and distracting, like the panthers.

I hate Alliere’s mask. It is really stupid. The overlapping leafs is way simpler and way better. I still think his Anaheim mask was the best he ever had.
    Go Ducks!
    We miss you Giguere!

  7. Jamie says:

I really like this mask. I love the way it looks from farther away against the blue unis

Anybody know where I can pick up a replica of this mask? or is it possible at all??

    Thanks
