Cameron Talbot’s new mask, from Dave Gunnarsson of Daveart.com, is “painted as a classic Rangers mask with the logos, painted as the mask is made of metal.” The twist is that Optimus Prime, from the Transformers series of cartoons and movies, is breaking free of his metal confinement  to reveal New York City in the background. “ According to Dave “the metal is bent open all over the mask…showing some robotic powers.”

I like the Rangers logo bit, but the rest has waaaaaay too much going on.

    “waaaaaay too much going on”

Just like in the Transformer movies…

  3. Paul Ipolito says:

“Less is more” does not seem to register with mask painters.I see the day coming when to be different a goalie will go with white pads/gloves/mask. Too much information on too small a surface.

“Kippers” read my post! Black and white mask.

  5. Question 3 says:

Paul Ipolito is right. Mask painters and mask designers are very hard to find in one package. A REAL designer should design, and an airbrush artist should airbrush it on. Just because you can airbrush, doesn’t mean you can design. Just because you can draw, doesn’t mean you can design. Just because you can paint extremely real still life, doesn’t mean you can design. Big difference.
