It’s been 28 years since Ghostbusters was first released in theatres, and Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray took on all manner of the paranormal in the blockbuster comedy.
New York Rangers and Connecticut Whale goaltender Cam Talbot would have been a mere three years old when the comedy first hit the silver screen. That he will be wearing this playful mask this season, indicates the staying power of the film – and provides a glimpse of Talbot’s sense of humour.
Dave Gunnarsson of Daveart.com created this comedic mask he calls “Ectoplasm Rocker” for Talbot to wear during the 2012-2013 season.
“Take cover … sliming ghost stuff all over,” Gunnarsson wrote on his Facebook page. “There are some really slimy ghosts on the move in NY city … it’s chaos all over! Slime is dripping … and even the Statue of Liberty is attacked by the slime she looks really afraid … And the Stay Puff dude is walking down town … But hold on, rescue is on the way, the red lightning shots all over is the rescue team coming!”
That combination of slime and Stay-Puft puts Talbot’s new mask among the early favourites for the best of the season:

That is AWESOME!! Would have loved this as a kid!
