Cedrick Desjardins Tampa Bay Lightning MaskCedrick Desjardins recently returned to the team he made his NHL debut with when the Tampa Bay Lightning traded prospect Dustin Tokarski to the Montreal Canadiens for the rights to the 27-year old from Edmunston, NB.

Artist David Leroux had to act quickly when Desjardins, who had been playing for the Canadiens’ affiliate in Hamilton before the trade, was recalled to Tampa after Mathieu Garon suffered a lower body injury in a game this week against Pittsburgh.

An award winning goaltender at every level from MVP in the Memorial Cup to the ECHL and AHL, in 2010-2011 Desjardins made his NHL debut with the Lightning (wearing another stunning Leroux Mask) appearing in two games and posting a 0.968 save percentage and a miserly 1.00 goals against average with wins against the Rangers and Canadiens.

We look forward to seeing this striking new lid in action soon when the Lightning hope Desjardins will repeat his success of a few seasons ago.

One Response to Cedrick Desjardins Tampa Bay Lightning Mask

I really enjoy the simple designs but I think it was a missed opportunity to leave the top of the mask white- a lightning bolt would’ve done, or their circle ‘hockey club’ logo. Still really like it though.
