Dan Ellis’ 2011-2012 Anaheim Ducks Mask
Ducks Keeper wearing new “Pirate Ship” mask for the new season
Dave Gunnarsson of Daveart.com has created the latest mask for Ducks goaltender Dan Ellis with a wide ranging group of duck characters in a Pirate adventure. Ellis and Gunnarsson still like the idea of a possessed duck although in another original take on the idea. Last season Ellis wore another Daveart creation – the Zombie Duck.
Enjoy all the photos and let us know int he comments what you think of Ellis’ newest goal mask.
Gunnarson writes, of the new mask,
Dan Ellis had an awesome idea with cool ducks as skull pirates on his new mask…We made a virtual high five and I started this paint adventure whereI transformed the whole mask to the front of a pirate ship cruising on the ocean…The water is splashing up on the sides as the ship is ready to attack some poor ships at night… You see some of them in the background.
Of course this pirate ship just as all pirate ship has a wood statue in the front of the ship, and on this pirate ship the statue obviously is a Ducks mask. The pirate skull ducks on each side are standing on the gunwale ready for war with a bunch of weapons… One of them is extra pissed off, he is holding his loved bottle of rome…but someone has emptied it, no wonder he’s so mad…!
And hey there I recognize something, check out the water, the cute rubber duck is here again, this time dressed as a pirate. We also found him on Ellis’ previous Zombie Ducks mask…but then as a zombie!

Wow, this is SICK! I, personally, absolutely LOVE the pirate ship theme him and Garon are going with this year. I sense…
a breakthrough for Dan Ellis!
Really cool mask, I like this old ducks logo at the chin
Love the front of the mask … the boat with the logo in it … but whats up with the gay pirate in purple ?!
The boat/pirate theme makes no sense.. is there a background story to this? No? Do I care? No? Because all around this mask is ROTTEN.. cartoon-ish stuff like this does NOT belong on Goalie masks. If you wanna go the cartoon route ya gotta make it a pretty unbelievable mask to make it look respectable.. this one isn’t
I’m assuming the pirate in purple is supposed to be a take on the Disney cartoon character Darkwing Duck. Seeing as how the Ducks have a connection to Disney, I would say that the cartoon characters are a resonable design cue.
Irbe not everyone can wear a white ugly Jofa mask, but at least this mask is original. Throwing a team logo and some lines is old news and boring. I appreciate a guy who throws out new ideas within the team name! A+ for me
