Artist David Arrigo is a good friend of inGoal Magazine. Earlier this year he sat down for an interview with us and also provided exclusive shots of Canucks goaltender Jason LaBarbera’s new mask, as it was under development and the finished product.

Today David forwarded a number of shots of his new mask – this one isn’t for a pro. It’s David’s own mask that he’ll have on display at events he works and he’ll also use – because like so many in the business David is a goalie too. The shots don’t do the finished work justice – there’s lots of mirrored paint and great 3D effects that the camera simply can’t capture. I love his work on the joker – a very opular character on goal masks today. It’s also great to see the tribute to the military on the back – one of David’s big breaks in the industry was a mask tribute to Canadian and American troops that was shown on Hockey Night in Canada and later auctioned off. On the other side you’ll see one of David’s favorite ‘tenders – Roberto Luongo who also happens to be sponsored by Reebok who support David and this mask in particular.

Thanks to David for the photos.

One Response to David Arrigo’s New Goal Mask

  1. Roberto Fazzari says:

Thanks a lot for my mask. You drew it of Johnny Bauer on bothe sides, with my last name at the front, and my school symbol at the back.

You also painted my cousins masks. Their last name is Tatangelo. On one of them you drew a bulldog skating and spelling out Julian.

    Thanks for my mask.
