With the excitement of the Brent Johnson knockout of Rick Dipietro last night, lots of people have goalie fights on their mind.
Brandon Maxwell of the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers may be taking that a bit too literally. Maxwell is the Rangers’ No.1 goaltender with an 18-10-3 record thus far backed by a 3.27 goals-against average and .905 save percentage to help his team to second place in the OHL’s midwest division.
This new helmet has been painted by David Leroux who always produces some of the best artwork in the business. It features two of hockey’s most infamous puck-stopping pugilists, Patrick Roy and Ron Hextall, still bleeding after bouts, and is sure to draw a lot more attention now that Johnson and DiPietro tried to add a page to goalie fight history.
