Jimmy Howard is heading into camp for the first time knowing he not only has a job, but he’s Detroit’s number one goalie. He’ll be sporting a sweet new lid, once again by Ray Bishop of Bishop Custom Designs. We’ve seen Spiderman on all kinds of masks over the years, but Ray has taken the famed Detroit Octopus to a new level by putting Spidey’s nemesis Doc Oc on Howard’s lid.

UPDATE: Here’s a great shot of the mask while Howard takes a break during an on-ice session. Thanks to George Malik and MLive.com.
