Win the Tim Thomas Moustache Mask – and chance to meet Tim!

Is there any doubt Tim Thomas was the perfect candidate for a Moustache Mask? (Scott Slingsby photo)
When InGoal Magazine first came up with the concept of a moustache-themed mask late last season, one National Hockey League goaltender jumped immediately to mind as the best candidate to lead the charitable charge: Tim Thomas.
Not only did the Boston Bruins’ star already sport one of the best moustaches in the league since Lanny MacDonald’s infamous soup strainer, but Thomas also had an ongoing relationship with both InGoal and couple of our regular partners, his personal mask maker, Tony Priolo from Sportmask, and his personal painter, Steve Nash of Eyecandyair (follow them on Twitter @Eyecandyair).
With a lot of extra work from both, InGoal is pleased to present the “Moustache Mask” Thomas will wear in November. Even better, the Tim Thomas Foundation is providing you with a chance to win the mask as well as to receive it from the Stanley Cup, Vezina and Conn Smythe-trophy winning goaltender in person!
More mask photos and details below, but first the contest details and link:
Throughout the month raffle tickets will be sold and on December 16th, one lucky winner will get to take three friends to a game, meet Tim Thomas and go home with the mask! This is an incredible opportunity to own a game-used mask, meet a legend and make a difference for an important cause. Proceeds of the raffle will benefit prostate cancer awareness and the Tim Thomas Foundation.
Entry Deadline: 11:00 AM ET on Friday, December 16, 2011
Drawing Date: Friday, December 16, 2011
Grand Prize:
- Winner will receive Tim Thomas’ game worn goaltender ”moustache mask” which was created and will be worn in November to support Cancer research and awareness.
- Winner and 3 guests will receive tickets to watch the Bruins take on the Canadiens, Monday, December 19th at 7:00 PM (or a mutually agreeable 2011/2012 regular season Boston Bruins home game if the Winner resides outside of New England)

As Thomas points out, the mission of his foundation is to “support the underdog” whether the underdog position was developed due to lack of opportunity, lack of education, illness or a disaster:
“I would like to help remove some of the barriers to open opportunities for full rewarding successful lives. The barrier may be a lack of a hot meal, lack of specialized training, a disease or a tragic event. My goals include the support of disease research and awareness, disaster relief efforts for people in our communities, food banks similar to the ones I worked at when I was a kid, or educational programs that provide future opportunities,” Thomas wrote.
“Our November fundraiser is to benefit Prostate Cancer and we hope to help eliminate barriers associated with the cancer disease. This cause is close to my heart and we are offering a raffle for an incredible prize. In November, I am wearing a moustache and my new ‘moustache mask’ to promote prostate cancer awareness. And the ‘Tim Thomas Moustache Mask Raffle’ is a unique fundraiser that will award a lucky winner with an amazing prize and that will help our fight against cancer.”
This beautiful mask is certain to generate a lot of interest and buzz. It features an image of Lord Horatio Kitchener made famous as a recruiting poster in England during World War 1, as well as a new, moustachioed take on the “Beware the Bear” logo that Thomas usually features on the backplate of his everyday mask, altered now to “Beware of the Stache.”

I couldn’t see it in the Rules, so I’ll ask here:
Are participants eligible globally, i.e. am I able to join the raffle from Finland?
As far as we know, yes you can!
Nice moustache there Tim!!
Can i do it from manitoba?
you can!
That may actually be the best raffle prize I’ve ever seen. And I don’t even like the Bruins. Totally awesome on Tim’s part, as well as the supplier and artist.
Nice one! Cool mask and nice to see Tim doing this for a good cause.
Love the site. We have started a new website showcasing the very best in helmet artwork and artists. We would love it if InGoalMag gave the word out that we currently have 6 spots open for November and would love to extend it to any artist on your site. It doesn’t matter if your company is big or small just that you do great artwork. The site is for goalie masks, racing helmets, catcher helmets etc. If you are interested, check us out at HelmetInk.com. Cheers.
Isn’t Hiller Doing something like this?
