New San Jose Sharks Goalie Antero Nittymaki’s 2010-2011 Mask
Thanks to artist David Arrigo and Antero Niittymaki’s personal permission, we are able to unveil the first shots of Niitty’s new mask he’ll be wearing with the Sharks this season.
One of the biggest moves among goalies this off season was the Sharks parting ways with long-time starting goalie Evgeni Nabokov and turning the starter’s job over to Niittymaki.
The Bauer mask contains classic shark references, as well as Niitty’s trademark design seen in his old Lightning and Flyers’ masks. This time, of course, the tommy-gun toting gangster is a shark.
What do you think of the mask? How much time will it see in the San Jose cage this year? Let us know in the comments below.
Take a few minutes and drop by David’s site and check out his great work and how he can help you get a professional design on your helmet this season.

Great colors!! I love their “shark biting the hockey stick” logo. Very cool.
What a beautiful mask!!! Great colors.
Can’t wait to see nitty between the pipes for san jose!
thats a pretty cool mask. He coulda put the DON from Shark Tale on there nicely too if he wanted lol
The only way this could have looked more epic is if the eyes on the sharks were orange.
Love the gangster sharks. Can’t wait till the season begins
I love how the barrel of the Thompson ends with the vent hole in the mask. Cool use of the canvas as a functional piece of the artwork.
Nitty has always had some of the best masks around, and he doesn’t dissapoint again. This mask is amazing.
A Shark version of Frank Nitty. What an idea
