Roberto Luongo Team Canada Olympic Mask – Newly Released
This evening Roberto Luongo’s longtime mask artist, Marlene Ross of Marlene Ross Design, was kind enough to forward these fantastic images of Luongo’s new mask that she created for the Vancouver Olympic Games. Louongo’s Canucks masks are already among the most popular designs with fans and this great Canadian twist on Johnny Canuck is sure to please as well. I love the weaving in of the Canadian flag and how it flows onto the back plate, the use of Johnny as Olympic Torch bearer and especially the golden 1 on the chin. Not sure if that was intended to be flame filled, or if Marelene and Roberto just want to make it clear he is hnting for gold – either way it works for me.
Enjoy the photos and head over to Marelene’s own site for a look at her gallery.

wish that luongo would wear a white cage
masks are fantastic but the white one is bad luck for him
roberto you are the best goiele ever!I love your new masks.
he’s never worn a white cage in his career for some reason he prefers to wear a black/blue cage. but i’ve always thought that white cages look more intimidating i think that all of his mask designs would have looked even better with a white cage.
A white cage shows up too much in his vision the darker cage interferes less.
yeah im gonna agree with the other guy.
AWSOME helmets
I gatta say I love all 3 helmets and I concur what the one homie said about Y Roberto only wears dark colored cages and it interferes…ALOT! The one neggative comment I have about her designs is it looks like Johnny Canuck has boobies haha. But yo why do you say that the white helmet is bad luck for Luongo?
