Tampa Bay Lightning Goalie Mike Smith’s Mask

Artist David Arrigo sent along some shots of Mike Smith’s newest mask, which he already has had to take out of action. David sent along the story:

“… just last week, during the Habs game, his head was stepped on and a slash through the back part of the lower ear made this lid unusable.  Needless to say, that mask did it’s job and then some, my hat’s off to Dom at ProChoice and his lids, he saved my boy.  The best quote of the whole situation was from Smitty, after he got up, looked at the ice and saw ‘a number of hairs shaved off my neck.’  It was a close one!”

Enjoy this fantastic work and check out the rest of David’s portfolio at www.darrigoart.com.

Best damn paint job that I think I’ve ever seen! Nice incorporation of the team logos without them taking over the entirety of the mask. My fav feature is how he worked in his number on the ship’s steering wheel on the chin. That’s phat!
