Ever wonder what one of today’s top artists could do with the sort of canvas to work on that the original goalies provided? It looks like Calgary star Mikka Kiprusoff wondered as well.

The cage on today’s helmets provide great protection but they also take away valuable artistic workspace. Just this morning Kipper’s longtime artist Todd Miska of Miska Designs delivered him a new helmet for this season. And one for his home.

The new game helmet features the traditional skulls design but this time with a black background.

The retro lid looks like a Mike Liut style mask painted as Miska would have done if Kipper were wearing this sort of mask.
