I heard form @TroyDavis via Twitter this morning about one of the most inspirational guys I have ever heard of.

Jim Martin, 86 years young, is still playing goal. Still in the old school pads.

“I’ve got pretty good reflexes for someone my age,” says Jim Martin, who took up the sport a mere 20 years ago at the invitation of a friend.

“But I’m still half a second too slow.”

That’s right – he took up goaltending at 67. That’s what it’s all about. Here’s to you Jim!

“The body was never meant to sit around. You have to think young and act young. As a man thinketh, so he is.”

How will Martin know when it’s time to hang up his skates?

“When I wake up in the morning and see my name in the obituaries,” he says with a twinkle in his eye.
