AHL Goalie News — Friday, Nov. 13
Features
- Cory Schneider is back in Manitoba and finally had a call up to Vancouver that met his, and his organization’s, expectations. (Winnipeg Sun)
- And if you’re not tired of reading about Schneider yet (seriously, this guy gets Ovechkin-level press in Manitoba), here’s the Freep’s look at what he accomplished with his latest call-up to the NHL. (Winnipeg Free Press)
- But wait! There’s more! Schneider is back but with the scoring drought his Moose are in, can he maybe try flinging some pucks down the ice into the other net? (Winnipeg Sun)
- Who should be the number one goalie in Hershey? Oh, to have such problems! (Stack the Pads)
Game Reports
- It’s not usually news when a goalie gets a loss, but it is when the goalie is coming off an 9-game win streak as Alexander Salak was for the Rochester Amerks. (Let’s Go Amerks)

Transactions
- Detroit’s Chris Osgood has the flu, so Daniel Larsson has been called up to the Wings from Grand Rapids.
- Sebastien Centomo had been called up to Grand Rapids from the IHL Muskegon Lumberjacks due to an injury to Thomas McCollum, but was released from his PTO Thursday. Currently, McCollum is the only goalie on the Grand Rapids roster.
- Jhonas Enroth was returned to Portland from Buffalo, which means Ryan Nie was also released from his PTO with Portland.
- Lake Erie signed Julien Ellis to a PTO on Wednesday and released him that same day, though he did back up Trevor Cann in their game Wednesday afternoon. However, Billy Sauer was also called up from ECHL Charlotte on Wednesday and remains on the roster for Lake Erie. Not sure what’s going on there. Tyler Weiman was out with flu-like symptoms but is expected to start against Houston tonight.
- Roberto Luongo is back in the nets for Vancouver, which sent Cory Schneider back to Manitoba and Rejean Beauchemin back to Idaho.
- Robert Mayer was called up from ECHL Cincinnati to Hamilton.
- Long-injured Houston Aeros goalie Barry Brust has been sent to ECHL Florida for a rehab assignment. He’s expected play his first game since April 10 tonight.
- Manny Legace left the Chicago Wolves for a two-way deal with the Caroline Hurricanes in the wake of Cam Ward’s injury.
- Matt Keetley was assigned by Abbotsford to ECHL Victoria for a rehab assignment after spending most of the season injured.
