Future Pro Goalie School Videos by Steve McKichan – Free Giveaway
Future Pro Instructional DVD Review and Giveaway
Contest is now closed and a winner has been announced
inGoal Magazine friend and reader Steve McKichan of Future Pro Goalie School recently sent me a copy of his most recent instructional DVDs. They are numbers 5-8 of his No Rebounds Goaltending Instructional DVD set which have just been completed – so new in fact that I don’t see them for sale yet on Steve’s web site. The copies I received are in DVD format but I understand a BlueRay version will also be produced.
I have enjoyed the first two DVDs so far – they are professional quality productions that you will find to be very helpful as part of your goaltending arsenal. Steve is a certified teacher with real classroom experience so he brings a level of teaching expertise to his work that others simply don’t have.
In the next few weeks I will be doing a full review for inGoal Magazine readers.
Steve has kindly offered to give away one set of the DVDs to an inGoal Magazine reader. The original set retails for $129 so this is a very generous offer that should be exciting for anyone looking to work on their game.
The rules of the giveaway are simple:
- The offer will remain open until I publish my review – at that time I will also publish the name of the winner.
- To be eligible you must be an email or RSS subscriber to our site. It’s free and keeps you up to date on everything we publish.
- For every useful comment you leave with any inGoal Magazine article you receive one entry to the contest. The more comments the more entries. Simple. I say “useful” comment simply to ask that you add to the conversation – a simple – “cool mask” or “I like your article” won’t really cut it.
- When the contest closes I’ll draw one entry at random to receive the DVD set.
OK – the contest is open – make sure you are a subscriber and start leaving comments with this post or any other on the site.
Contest is now closed and a winner has been announced
And while you are at it – go visit Steve’s web site FuturePro.com where he has some great resources.

I’ve got Keeks first incarnation of instructional dvds, and found them very helpful. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s added to the new version. Seeing things visually truly helps to cement in your mind the best way to make a save, or the best reaction for certain situations in a game.
This is great stuff- there are a variety of dvd’s out there on goalie instruction. I find it’s best to watch a few and pick up bits and pieces that are suited to your game.
I think it may be worth adding that Steve himself played in the NHL briefly with the Vancouver Canucks until an injury prematurely ended his NHL playing career.
More recently Ed Belfour had hired him as his personal coach, and later he was hired as goalie coach by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Just to point out that Steve has extremely impressive credentials!
Awesome promotion
My daughter attended some of his clinics and just loves the way he teaches.
I also have the 1st set of instructional DVD’s, that not only I use for myself, but for my students as well. Keeks is definately on top of the game, and a valuable source for everything goaltending!
This is a very good idea and my only concern is does it have Subtitles? I’m hard of hearing and if there are subtitles, then I won’t miss any important tips spoken on the DVD. Just wanted to make sure I get everything down right.
One of my training was with Paul Fricker and it was only 1 hr session. (I have ex jr goalies mentoring me but it’s not enough) I soak every possible information that I can get. Just from 1 hr session with a goalie instructor, my game has improved dramatically. I pride in myself being very observant and self taught. But I am sure there are few little things that I am missing out. So it should be interesting to see how much impact this DVD will have on me. I love looking for all sorts of video clips and drills just to improve my game.
dnabyun – I can’t recall if there are subtitles or not on these, may have to just crank that volume up there!
Would love to see the entire goalie training DVD set. As a longtime goalie and coach, I always enjoy picking up great tricks and tips from other goalies and instructors.
Hi Coach Steve taught my son (8) last summer and was great. He is very engaging and has emailed us to check up on Owen. I purchased the new DVDs and were equally impressed with the content and professional quality of the discs. I understand that Blu Ray discs are delayed but my response is “don’t wait”.
DVDs 5-8 feature new goaltending stances, and explanations for the use of each to minimize goals against. The content is professionally scripted and progression based enabling my eight year old son can follow hopefully to mastery with enough practice.
They are a great addition and I would strongly recommend the full set to any goalie from 8 – 80 who wants to learn from one of the best.
I’m a “beginner” in that goali world and the training DVD set would help me to teach our goalies. If i’m not the happy winner – i’ll go on my way to give them a good feeling and having fun by what they do in front of the net.
I am going to be volunteering to help youth hockey as a goalie trainer and could use all the help I can get. I remember that the only advise I got when I started playing was “stop the puck”, all the practice time was spent on the linesman and defense. I would like to better prepare beginning goalies as they start out.
