Ryan Miller made it clear Thursday what he isn’t. He’s not a savior. He can’t lift the Buffalo Sabres into a playoff spot merely by lifting his arms. He can’t carry them by himself for all nine of their remaining games.
But it was also clear Thursday what Miller is. He is the leader of the Buffalo Sabres. He says what needs to be said, says what needs to be heard.

Ward’s new approach paying off for Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward hasn’t been too focused on the “what-ifs” this season. Instead, he’s been locked in on what-have-you-done-for-me-lately.
And lately, the 25-year-old Ward has been nothing short of magnificent during his team’s rapid ascent in the Eastern Conference standings.
