Burke in pursuit of Swedish goalie
We’ve covered this one already but the Globe and Mail added this piece today. The new bit is that Burke skipped the Leafs last game to fly to Copenhagen to meet with Jonas Gustavsson who apparently has narrowed his choice of teams to Toronto and Dallas.
In an interview Gustavsson told Slam.ca that “It would be a dream to play (in Toronto), it is probably the most famous team in the world.”
Game Reports
- Roberto Luongo had a reasonably easy night grabbing his second straight shutout to help the Canucks to the division title and third seed in the playoffs. The game earned Luongo the NHL’s second star of the night. Luongo finished the regular season with 9 shutouts, second only to Steve Mason. Luongo was determined to start the game and not concerned about an injury risk. You have to wonder though, when they clinched the division with the tie – should LaBarbera have gone in for the OT?
