It’s a real shame that players are slamming into Lundqvist in the first place, but the more egregious crime is that no one on the Rangers is crushing the offenders. Soon enough players will learn that there’s no price to pay for running the goalie and the end result will be an injury to the most important players the Rangers have.
I for one appreciate having a crease rule in my rollerhockey league—the refs will pretty much blow the whistle if a shot is taken and a player from the other team is in my crease. Will it take a major injury to an NHL goaltender to bring back the crease rule to the NHL?
