World Championship Goaltenders
Team Canada has chosen its goaltenders for the World Championships, and some of the decisions may present mild to significant surprise. Dwayne Roloson and Josh Harding will be joined by reserve Fred Braitwaite who played this year in Germany. It is not known if others were approached but turned down offers to represent Canada. We have not yet heard who will represent Team USA at the World Championships but it must be a big disappointment to hear that Ryan Miler will not play as he feels a need to rest his injured ankle. The other American netminder we identified as one of the NHLs top netminders not in the playoffs, Craig Anderson has also declined saying there are many reasons – likely impending UFA status after a career best season being one of them: Panthers G Anderson declines U.S. team invite
