NHL Goalies

Between the pipes: Can’t dwell too much on Game 2 loss.

Dustin Byfuglien’s ability to create traffic in the crease could be a big factor when Chicago returns home to face the Canucks.

Goalie Roberto Luongo knows he’s got to make the big saves, but says he needs help if the Canucks are to succeed.

It wasn’t exactly the most diplomatic question but, Monday afternoon, an intrepid reporter from the Windy City asked Roberto Luongo about being “shellacked” in Game 2.

After an uncomfortable three-second pause, the Canucks’ goalie answered: “Is that a serious question?”

I thought Hiller was very good yesterday, but it was not an awe-inspiring performance. Sure he made a lot of saves, but he had a clear look at a lot of those shots.

Non-playoff Goalies

The goaltender’s career in Buffalo lasted just six games, as the pending unrestricted free agent has signed to play with Ak Bars of Russia’s KHL. A report out of Sweden said Tellqvist signed for about $1.3 million, up from this season’s NHL salary of $800,000.
