InGoal exclusive: Reebok Premier 4 Goalie Equipment Launch
InGoal was on hand in Las Vegas for the VIP launch of Reebok’s new P4 line of goal equipment on October 15. The Premier 4 has become one of the most anticipated goal equipment launches in history, with the gear on goalies around the NHL, junior and NCAA hockey since the beginning of the season. But with few specific details released publicly, the intrigue around the goalie world has been building steadily.
Reebok won’t be making the P4 available to purchase for several months, but InGoal was given the opportunity to see what’s behind the line and will be bringing readers exclusive inside looks and reviews in the weeks to come, starting with this sneak peak after InGoal’s Kevin Woodley spoke with Sonya Dibiase, Head of Reebok’s Goal Equipment division:

i like these pads reminds me of old koho they had before
Great Job guys, can’t wait to see all the bits and pieces that you guys recorded!
The claim about making the five hole smaller has always been, in my opinion, somewhat of a dubious claim. Take the same pads, put them on two different goalies, and the five hole will be bigger or smaller depending on his or her flexibility, leg flare, method of strapping, whether the pants push on the pads etc. You can only put so much thigh rise on a pad before it goes too high, either for practical or legal reasons. Anyways, just my two cents. I am anxious to see what is behind (and inside) this new pad. Can’t see why Reebok is holding this back from the market other than strictly for the purpose of generating more hype, as opposed to a legitimate manufacturing or distribution delay.
Paul…the 5-hole claim is not about thigh-rise. Can’t say more just yet.
Sounds James Bondish! I can’t wait to hear more!
When can you say more>
Will these pads be able to last a whole season unlike the p3 pad ?
Great question Ryan! Goalie equipment became less resistant since the big equipment manufacturers put their production to Far East Asia.
I just had an interesting talk with a salesman at Entrepot du Hockey in QC. I’ve been told that RBK can still produce your order in Canada, if you indicate it, however if you don’t tell them to do so, they will order the chinese made equipment for you. For example the difference between RBK Revoke Pro P3 and RBK Revoke Pro P3 PZ, that the PZ model is still made in Canada. PZ means Pro Zone. It actually cost 300 dollars more.
I’m quite disappointed with this.
So be aware of RBK’s cheap stuff, and buy Canadian made high quality stuff from other manufacturers, because these RBK made poor quality equipments are not designed to survive a complete season, unless you are using your equipment less than 3 times a week!
Hey thanks for the reply. i love the look of the reeboks and i have used them a few times but my goalie partner had to get and break in a new pair of pads in February, and he got the pads in october
