Goalie Mike McKenna

We have a Q&A session coming up soon with our in-house professional Mike McKenna of the AHL’s Albany Devils. If you’ve been reading his work here, you’ll know that Mike is a well-thought goalie who does a great job of communicating what it’s like to be a pro.

I put a call out to our subscribers first to send in their questions, as thanks to them for being regular readers. Of course, I’d still love to hear from you as well, so feel free to send in some questions for Mike. We’re going to do the session as a video piece so you can get to know Mike that much better.

I hope you’re having a great summer and enjoying some good training. Send your question to me today! [email protected].

Subscribing is free, I don’t bug you with anything but inGoal information and I never, ever share your information with anyone. So if you want to stay in close touch, please consider subscribing today!

    Hey Mike,

Playing in pretty much every pro level, what did you find was the one thing you needed to work on the most to advance to the next level?

    Thanks

  2. Devlin says:

    Mike,

Are goalies in any way bound by the agreement between the AHL and Reebok? I know most skaters are required to use Reebok sticks, gloves, etc. How would you feel if you were forced to use a certain brand?

How do you feel about the move to Albany? Fans the the area excited to see you play!

  3. Colin Stasuik says:

Also, what are some off ice drills you could recommend for becoming a better skater, as well as better with movement? Like things you can do every day, that are goalie specific, that can help you improve. Stuff like knee drops, stickhandling, balancing, stuff like this… are there any more that you use or you’ve used in the past that have improved your game?

    Thanks again
