Canucks in six. My gut tells me that Jonas Hiller is going to be the story of these playoffs and that there's a chance, however unlikely, that he can get into the collective head of the Red Wings and steal that series. Ducks in seven. But I think the best matchup will be Tim Thomas vs. Cam Ward. Thomas has done just about everything for the B's this year, but he's entering uncharted waters against a team that, on paper, is clearly inferior, but has a battle-tested goalie who never seems to get the credit he deserves. 'Canes in seven in a dramatic upset. As for the other series - if it's as good as I'm hoping it will be, I feel sorry for Fleury AND Varlamov. Caps in seven. If Anaheim beats Detroit it will be because of him and thus, make him a decent Conn Smythe candidate if the Ducks eventually advance to the Stanley Cup Final. Osgood always raises his game in the playoffs - but he only gets about a dozen shots/game and mostly from the perimeter. I expect that Hiller will ahve to be outstanding for Anaheim to win. He was down with the flu a bit in the Montreal series, and made the stops he should have. His competative nature and hate for getting scored upon will hopefully show everyone in the league what we already know in Boston...he's a winner.
