Even after a less than inspiring effort, the Boston Bruins were still able to take home two points from the last place Florida Panthers Thursday night with a 4-1 victory.

Tuukka Rask earned first star honors for his 29 saves enroute to his 14th win of the season. The only blemish of the night for the Finnish netminder came at the 3:10 mark of the second frame when Shawn Matthias potted a short handed goal to cut the Boston lead to 2-1.

Scott Clemmensen(2-4-2) returned to Boston where he backstopped the Boston College Eagles to the 2001 National Championship with hopes of halting the Panthers current 4 game losing streak. After falling behind 2-0 in the first period on goals by Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron, Florida cut the lead in half on the Matthias score but was unable to generate any more offense. The Bruins extended their lead to 3-1 when Shawn Thornton netted his third goal of the season followed by a Bergeron empty-netter to cap off the scoring.
