Goalie Mask, Tuukka Rask

Earlier in the season, I tried to get some close up shots of Tuukka Rask’s mask while shooting a Bruins practice. Unable to get what I wanted at the time, I decided to wait until another opportunity presented itself. That opportunity came this past Monday at the Bruins, Islanders game. During a second period timeout, Rask skated over to where I was shooting and I was able to finally get the shots of his mask I wanted.

Later this weekend I’ll put up some shots of Dwayne Roloson’s mask.

Amazing shots…what kind of lens/camera you using?

    • Scott Slingsby says:

      Thanks Jason, appreciate it.

I’m shooting with the Nikon D700/70-200 f2.8 combo. The D700 is an amazing low light camera. All the shots in the Garden were at f4.0,1/800 at ISO 2500. I don’t have to do any noise reduction in post processing either. For me, that means less time at the computer and more time shooting.

Hey there. Absolutely beautiful photos. Question: is the Bauer logo really offset or are my eyes fooling me?

    • Scott Slingsby says:

Your eyes are not fooling you. I looked at some other pictures of Tuukka’s mask and the Bauer logo is offset. Good catch.

Such an awesome looking mask! And likelythat Bauer logo is a re branding or a last minute add on, or possibly even vinyl

The mask itself is a Pros Choice Vapor. (Sorry for all the double posts for some reason my computer keeps submitting them before I am done)
