Shots on Goal: Goalie Photography
Worcester Sharks vs Manchester Monarchs
On a night when the they were out shot almost 2 to 1 by the Sharks, the Monarchs came away with a convincing 6-3 victory, and remain on top of the Atlantic Division.
Manchester goalie Jonathan Bernier spent a busy night in net stopping 46 of 49 shots. Bernier picked up the win, and improves his record to 13-7-2. Manchester goals were scored by Marc-Andre Cliche (2), David Meckler (2), Bud Holloway and Dwight King.
I tried to get some different perspectives of Bernier during the game. There were some open seats opposite the zamboni area where I normally shoot from, so I figured I’d take advantage of this opportunity and do some shooting from the stands for a little while. The first picture is of Bernier making a left pad save early in the second period. The second picture is a different view of Bernier’s mask.

Alex Stalock stopped 20 of 25 shots on the night, the final goal being an empty netter at 16:56 of the third period. The loss for Stalock also snapped a personal best seven game win streak. He had not allowed more than two goals a game in his previous seven starts.
I was able to get a couple of shots of Alex Stalock from my usual spot in the zamboni area. In the first picture, I caught a nice skate save in the first period and the second shot is a rebound off his stick in the third period.

I think that’s Jonathan Bernier but I’m not sure. Still the lion on his mask is very cool. I love masks that are really realistic looking. The lion looks great.
You’re correct Ben, it is Jonathan Bernier. I got the shot during the pregame warm up from the area between the benches. His mask is one of my favorites that I’ve shot this season.
It’s really cool isn’t it?
