The Manchester Monarchs, behind a 38 save effort from Jonathan Bernier, picked up their 33rd win of the season (33-20-2-5) with a 5-2 victory over the Springfield Falcons. With 73 points, Manchester remains in third place in the Atlantic Division. Springfield (18-32-9-3) is in eighth place in the Atlantic Division with 48 points.

Jonathan Bernier

Bernier stopped 38 of 40 shots on the night , 20 of which came in the first period, to earn his 25th win of the season (25-15-5). Monarchs’ goals were scored by Kevin Westgarth (11), Corey Elkins (18), Bud Holloway (16) and 2 from David Mekler (10).

Devan Dubnyk

Dubnyk (11-17-2) draws the loss, his 17th of the season, stopping 35-of-40 pucks. Falcons’ goals came from Chris Minard at 16:16 of the second period and Charles Linglet at 1:08 of the third period.

Falcons Note: The Springfield Falcons signed goaltender Byron Lewis to an Amateur Tryout Agreement on Wednesday afternoon after J.P. Levasseur was reassigned by the Anaheim Ducks back to the Central Hockey League’s Laredo Bucks.
