Women’s Hockey, Maine vs UNH
The Maine Black Bears took on the #4 UNH Wildcats this past weekend with UNH coming out on top with a 5-0 win. The lady Black Bears used two goalies, Candice Currier and Brittany Ott, to try and stop the 44 shots on goal by the UNH women. In goal for the Wildcats was Kayley Herman who had a relatively quiet afternoon stopping all 12 shots from Maine. UNH improves their record to 7-0-1 and continues a 26 game unbeaten streak against Maine. Maine’s overall record falls to 2-7-1.

Goalie Candice Currier, Maine
The sophomore netminder played a total of 48:37 letting in 5 goals on 33 shots. Her goals-against-average in now 2.55 with a .921 save percentage.
Goalie Brittany Ott, Maine
Freshman goalie Brittany Ott took over for Currier with 11:23 left in the third period and stopped all four shots she faced.
Goalie Kayley Herman, UNH
Goalie Kayley Herman faced her toughest test in the third period when she stopped an Amy Stech shot from in front of the net with a incredible save. (See picture below) With the win, Herman improved her record to 4-0-1.
