NHL Saves of the Week: April 20 – 26

Week two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs has come to a close, and teams are now starting to get eliminated. A goaltending performance can be the difference between winning and losing a series, and the saves of the week prove that! Devan Dubnyk and Jaroslav Halak are the stars of this week’s recap. Check out all of the NHL saves of the week for April 20th to 26th:

Frederik Andersen – Anaheim Ducks

Freddy Andersen was relied on heavily in the Ducks’ sweep of the Jets, but still had time to flash some leather!

Carey Price – Montreal Canadiens

Price can get it done in a variety of ways, including with the butt end of his stick!

Jaroslav Halak – New York Islanders

Halak is proving his worth to the Islanders in the playoffs with big saves like this.

Henrik Lundqvist – New York Rangers

This is a harder save than it looks. Lundqvist shuts down Crosby!

Devan Dubnyk – Minnesota Wild

Dubnyk1 (2)

Porter is set up all alone in the slot, but Dubnyk makes a great reactionary save to keep it out!

Jaroslav Halak – New York Islanders

Halak makes another one of his great saves from this week. Snares it with the glove!

Petr Mrazek – Detroit Red Wings

Another aggressive glove save by Mrazek, who is getting hot at the right time.

Ondrej Pavelec – Winnipeg Jets

Pavelec stretches over and just gets a piece with his arm. Huge save in overtime!

Jaroslav Halak – New York Islanders

Halak2 (2)

Halak doesn’t quit! A glorious chance for Johansson, but he is robbed.

Devan Dubnyk – Minnesota Wild

Steen has Dubnyk at his mercy, but the pad comes up for an unbelievable save!
