NHL Saves of the Week: March 2 – 8

The dream run for Andrew Hammond and the Ottawa Senators continued all through the week, as Hammond is now 7-0-1 on the season – and the Senators have vaulted back into the playoff race. The run has included some fantastic saves, as three of Hammond’s stops made the top ten this week. An unexpected name is sitting at number one, and the save is pretty amazing! Check out the NHL saves of the week for March 2nd to 8th:

Corey Crawford – Chicago Blackhawks

Crawford tracks this off his arm just in time to come across and rob Nestrasil.

Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning

Not the rebound Vasilevskiy probably wanted to give up, but the recovery sure was nice!

Andrew Hammond – Ottawa Senators

The much-talked-about Hamburglar on Hammond’s mask actually made this save!

Frederik Andersen – Anaheim Ducks

Looks like Andersen didn’t need much time to get back into the groove!

Jonas Hiller – Calgary Flames

Hiller busts out the two-pad stack! Gets it with the blocker, and scores a ton of bonus points for the added flair.

Andrew Hammond – Ottawa Senators

Another two-pad stack, this time from Andrew Hammond. He moves deceptively fast!

Carey Price – Montreal Canadiens

Price was down 4-0 at the time of this save, so the windmill had some anger behind it.

Steve Mason – Philadelphia Flyers

Mason with the huge pad save, then stops it from trickling in!

Andrew Hammond – Ottawa Senators

Hammond1 (2)

The Hamburglar steals another one. What a week for Hammond!

Anders Lindbäck – Buffalo Sabres

Unbelievable presence of mind by Lindbäck to reach up with his stick and get a piece of the puck before it goes in!
