NHL Saves of the Week: October 12 – 18

Week two of the 2015-2016 regular season is in the books, and for the second week in a row, Henrik Lundqvist leads the pack. The New York Rangers’ netminder topped last week’s list by diving back into his net for a stick save, and this week, he’s back in the number one spot again.
Carey Price has helped the Montreal Canadiens achieve their best start in the history of the organization – 6-0-0. He appears twice on this week’s list, and rightly so. He was able to shut down the high-flying offences of New York, Pittsburgh, and Detroit all in one week.
Check out those saves, and the rest of the list in the top ten NHL saves of the week for October 12th to 18th:
#10
Carey Price – Montreal Canadiens

If you had to pick one goalie to stop a Sidney Crosby one-timer with a minute left, it’s probably Carey Price.
#9
Ondrej Pavelec – Winnipeg Jets
#8
Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings
#7
Carey Price – Montreal Canadiens
#6
Scott Darling – Chicago Blackhawks

Darling made a mess with his clearing attempt, but gets back just in time to get a piece of the shot!
#5
Kari Lehtonen – Dallas Stars
#4
Cam Ward – Carolina Hurricanes
#3
Jonathan Bernier – Toronto Maple Leafs

It’s a set play on a faceoff that works to perfection, but Bernier denies with the massive glove save.
#2
Jonas Hiller – Calgary Flames

Connor McDavid deked out Jonas Hiller about three separate times on this play, but he reaches back with the paddle to keep it out!
As usual Henrik shows why he can do saves like that. Dedication and hard work. On Jonas Hiller save he just made a DOMINIK HASEK’S technic save, but inverted, and in that kind of save Dominik drop es he stick, Jonas didn’t, and he showed his athletic strength and speed. Is not easy to roll like that with the stick on his hand. SUPERB!!!
