Halak Shows Off New Brian’s SubZero 3 He Helped Design
New York Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak is the latest goaltender to take to the internet to show off a sharp-looking new set of Brian’s SubZero Pro 3 pads and gloves for the upcoming NHL season.
Not all of the other goalies played a role in helping design them, however.
Halak continued his history of strong ties to the Canadian equipment company with what one rep called “great input” into the SubZero Pro 3 line that will debut with this NHL season before becoming available to the public on Nov. 1.
With Brian’s pledging the third generation of it’s innovative SubZero will be “the lightest pad possible while continuing to push the limits of craftsmanship, innovation, and performance,” there’s a lot for goalies to get excited about beyond the new look. And for those wondering about the disappearance of the previous “scratch graphic” that Halak helped design and wore last season, don’t worry, we’ve been assured by the good folks at Brian’s Custom Sports that the Islanders goalie has a “special set or two planned for this season in Brooklyn.”
Given some of the past custom sets produced by a group known as The Custom Goal Company, the idea of any new look is exciting, especially when you consider some of their past offerings.
When it comes to the new graphics on the SubZero Pro 3 pads and gloves, however, there may not be a lot of customization needed to turn heads.
Halak, who talked extensively about his gear and his game during an InGoal Ask a Pro segment a couple years ago, isn’t the only goaltender showing off the stylish new equipment, which is getting strong early reviews for the updated look.
Winnipeg Jets goaltender Michael Hutchinson made the switch to Brian’s equipment late last season and showed off his new pads and matching mask in an InGoal Magazine story.
