Braden Holtby Will Auction Special Mask For Cancer Charity
The Washington Capitals will hold their Hockey Fights Cancer game this Wednesday, October 28. Braden Holtby and Dave Gunnarsson of DaveArt have come up with a version of Holtby’s DaveArt mask for the occasion.
Like his regular mask, this is a a clean, simple design dominated by the stars of the Capitals logo. Here, though, the Caps’ red, white, and blue and the landmarks of the American capital are replaced by the lavender color and logo of Hockey Fights Cancer. As always with a DaveArt mask, there are small details throughout the mask, such as star trails throughout, giving the mask a sense of motion.
According to the team, “Holtby and Philipp Grubauer will . . . wear Hockey Fights Cancer-themed goalie masks during the game. . . . These autographed, jerseys, goalie masks, sticks and pucks will be auctioned off at the MSE Foundation table located on the main concourse at section 104 of Verizon Center during game.” For more information about the auction, including how to bid, please see their website.
Hockey Fights Cancer is a joint initiative between the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association that raises money for national and local organizations such as research institutions, children’s hospitals, and other local cancer organizations.
