Exclusive first shots: Boucher’s New Carolina Mask

Exclusive first shots: Boucher’s New Carolina Mask

Not long ago we were able to bring you the first shots of Brian Boucher’s first Carolina mask, a clean and crisp design on a primarily white background to match the road uniforms.

Now Drummond Custom Airbrush has just shipped “Boosh’s” second mask, with a similar theme but set to match the home uniforms.

Drummond fans will also enjoy  Ilya Bryzgalov’s Flyers helmet for this season.

David is one of the founders of InGoal Magazine which he began in 2009. Of course he finds time for some goaltending of his own as well, and despite his age, clings desperately to the idea that some NHL team will call him to play for them - though in his mid-forties (OK, late 40s) it'll likely be for a practice when everyone else on their depth chart has the flu and the shooter tutor has gone in for repairs.

He always has the lamest masks, they look like theyre meant to be mass produced and sold. just bad

I agree in that they don’t reflect much personality, but the work done on it looks good; I just wish all goalies would show some personality and have really customized lids.

There certainly is a balance to find between looking simple i.e. dull and too complicated and busy. So many mask themes have come and gone that it becomes tough to come up with something that hasn’t already been done. I just find that many goalies have so much happening on their mask that one can’t tell the difference between them unless they are 6 inches away. And 99% of us, if we ever get to see a game, see it from thje nosebleeds i.e. a quarter mile from ice level…

I like the plainer design. Are we having a fashion show or are we playing hockey?

So I guess your fave mask is Hiller’s?

Its tougher for him as their logo isn’t much to work with. Other teams logo’s offer the chance for cooler masks. I like what hes done.
