Rick DiPietro’s 2010-2011 New York Islanders “Camo” Mask

Islanders number one has another military-themed mask created by Daveart

Rick DiPietro has had Dave Gunnarsson create another military-themed mask for him – another tribute to his father who was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Last year he sported a mask with a similar theme called “The Patriot.”

This year he has included some Islanders colored camo in the design, like he is using on his pads, as well as a new “DP” logo that Gunnarsson created for Rick. Of course, there are also helicopters for his father.

Check out for more fantastic goal mask artwork.

David is one of the founders of InGoal Magazine which he began in 2009. Of course he finds time for some goaltending of his own as well, and despite his age, clings desperately to the idea that some NHL team will call him to play for them - though in his mid-forties (OK, late 40s) it'll likely be for a practice when everyone else on their depth chart has the flu and the shooter tutor has gone in for repairs.

Nothing really new here besides the camo and DP logo. On TV looked like there was too much red (clashing with orange of Isles uni). Not a big fan of the sparkles in the stars and dog tags. All in all I think it’s the best of the military themed masks DP has had over the years.

I like it! I didn’t know what it was when I seen it on TV but the up close shots help make sense. I like Daveart’s stuff for the most part!

Love the mask, of course I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Daveart mask I didn’t like. I assume Ricky is stealing a page out of Marty Brodeur’s design book by incorporating initials into a logo for his mask?

He also has “Camo” pads, a home and away set to match the masks. Such a stylish guy that DiPietro……hopefully he can put together a solid season of games played this year and not go down with injury

I love the Mask but I think that the BEST Islanders Mask ever probably had to be Dwayne Rolosons Mask 2010 2011
