Darcy Kuemper’s New Minnesota Wild Mask

Darcy Kuemper’s New Minnesota Wild Mask

kuemper_3-2With Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding ahead of him on the depth chart, Darcy Kuemper figures to spend most of the 2013-14 season carrying a heavy starter’s load with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League.

But the promising prospect has already shown he’s a big part of the Minnesota Wild’s future between the pipes, so it’s fitting his new mask is a perfect fit for both Wild teams.

Painted by Jason Livery of HeadStrongGrafx, the new mask focuses heavily on a blend of Wild colours and logos that jump brightly and boldly off the mask.

Which sounds a lot like Kuemper’s surprise debut with the Wild last season. That started an impressive stint filling in for Harding while he adjusted to the effects of new medications to manage his Multiple Sclerosis, was enough for the Wild to trade away Jeff Hackett, effectively making Kuemper Minnesota’s goalie of the future.

This season, he’s got a mask to match. For more  more great masks, check out the HeadStrongGrafx website, as well as on Twitter, and FaceBook.

    Cool looking mask from Jason.
P.S. Matt Hackett was traded last season, his uncle is Jeff Hackett.
