Goalie Ray Emery Back in Ottawa – Car Impounded for Excessive Speeding
Like he Never Left – Former Senators Goalie has Hummer Impounded for Excessive Speeding
The former Senators goaltender was allegedly involved in yet another traffic violation Sunday night while driving his Hummer on Highway 416.
Grenville County OPP pulled over a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. when an officer spotted it going well in excess of the speed limit. The Hummer was impounded in Kemptville and Emery’s licence was suspended for one week.
Emery was charged under the stunt driving provisions of the Highway Traffic Act. Under Ontario law, police have the authority to seize a vehicle going faster than 50 km/h above the speed limit, however they would not confirm how fast the vehicle was going.
