Luongo and Schneider Show off Millionaires Masks, Gear in Practice

Cory Schneider in Vancouver Millionaires GearWith the Vancouver Canucks set to wear replica 1915 Vancouver Millionaires jerseys tomorrow evening at home vs. Detroit, goaltenders Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider sported the new-look uniforms with the rest of their teammates in practice this morning.

The goaltenders were also showing off their new retro-design masks and all-white gear for the first time together. Schneider’s mask made its debut here at InGoal thanks to artist Dave Gunnarsson, while Luongo had just received his new lid from artist Marlene Ross who has been behind a number of Luongo designs in the past including his Johnny Canuck masks worn both with the Canucks and in the Olympic Games.

The Canucks announced that Roberto Luongo will start in the game vs. Detroit, his third consecutive start.

Of course he finds time for some goaltending of his own as well, and despite his age, clings desperately to the idea that some NHL team will call him to play for them - though in his mid-forties (OK, late 40s) it'll likely be for a practice when everyone else on their depth chart has the flu and the shooter tutor has gone in for repairs.
