Malcolm Subban Mask Combines the Grim Reaper with Bible Verse

When Bruins’ prospect Malcolm Subban asked for a new mask for this season with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League, he only had a couple instructions for Montreal painter, David Leroux.
“He wanted to have something more DARK and mean,” Leroux said, “So he asked me to paint a grim reaper. He wanted to have a black background and his other request was to have a bible verse somewhere on the mask. For the rest, he let me run with it!”
Judging by the finished product, it was a smart decision by Subban, who was picked 24th in last summer’s draft by Boston and signed a three-year entry level deal with the Bruins in early September.
The results, featuring the biblical reference on a backplate that includes the Bruins logo, a Bulls logo on one side, and the Reaper on the other, speak for themselves:
The backplate biblical verse is Psalm 23:4, which reads: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
sweet mask!!
I dig that he honors the team he actually plays for and pays a minor tribute to the Big Team on his backplate; like that is the ultimate goal, but until then, he’s a full-time Bull.
I think that there are more underline issue and the parents need to take a look at what feelings the child is experiencing why he choose this mask there could be a bigger message the child is sending because when using scriptures there are feelings that one may be experiencing , however it is up to the parents to understand and ask child the reason for choosing this mask.
