Meet San Jose Sharks No. 1 Martin Jones at Tendyfest 3 on Sunday

San Jose Sharks No. 1 goaltender Martin Jones is coming to Tendyfest 3 this Sunday.

Jones will be at Canlan 8 Rinks in Burnaby, B.C. on May 27 from noon until 2 p.m. local time, signing autographs, talking tending, and meeting fans at the Vaughn Custom Sports booth as part of The Hockey Shop’s annual Ultimate Goalie Gear Demo Day and Trade Show.

Jones, who is from North Vancouver and a proud alumni of the North Shore Winter Club, backstopped the Sharks to the Stanley Cup Final in 2016 and played in the NHL All Star Game in 2017. The Hockey Shop and InGoal Magazine will be giving away posters featuring the 28-year-old, five-year NHL veteran that attendees at Tendyfest 3 can have signed by Jones at the Vaughn booth.

That’s certainly not all The Hockey Shop will be giving away, and it’s far from the only reason to attend. In addition to the chance to also meet three-time Canadian Olympian Shannon Szabados and perennial BHL champion Kane Van Gate, and take the latest equipment out on the ice to try it for yourself before you buy, there is a long list of prizes for those in attendance.

Tops on the list is a custom set of the new Bauer Supreme 2S Pro line that InGoal began sharing our in-depth review of this week. Bauer is also giving away a signed 1S stick from one of it’s signature NHL goalies (you’ll have to show up in person to see if it’s Frederik Andersen, Henrik Lundqvist or Devan Dubnyk).

The Hockey Shop is giving away an autographed jersey from Szabados and Jones (and maybe KVG will bring one of his BHL championship jerseys too?)

CCM is giving away one of their new pro masks featuring the added protection of a D3O liner. Vaughn will give away a custom chest protector, as will Brian’s Custom Sports.
Warrior is giving away a three-pack of their popular new CR1 composite stick, True is giving away one of their 6.0 composite sticks, and Brad Dinwoodie Designs is giving away a full custom paint job. There will also be several goalie schools on hand, and of course, InGoal will be there to talk little ‘tending and give away some of our motocross-level durability mask stickers. (Check out the event page for more info).

Of course, the chance to rub elbows with Szabados, Jones, KVG and us isn’t the only reason to attend TendyFest 3, an event now being imitated all over North America. Far from it.

The biggest draw remains the chance to take the newest goalie gear, including the Warrior Ritual G4 line Szabados wore in Pyeongchang, on the ice to test it for yourself before you buy for next season.

It’s a one of a kind demo event, and will feature the all new CCM Premier 2 line that InGoal recently reviewed, the Bauer Supreme 2S Pro that InGoal began a review series on this week, the Brian’s Optik line that InGoal reviewed in the fall, as well as the Ritual G4 and the latest from Vaughn:

The demo sessions will include SR and JR equipment sizes, and are first-come, first-serve, so arrive early if you want to take multiple lines for a test drive, and bring the rest of your full equipment.

Not planning on going on the ice? The Hockey Shop goal department has you covered, with huge goaltending trade show featuring tons of gear, pro services reps from CCM, Bauer, Warrior, True, Brian’s and Vaughn on hand to answer all your questions, as well as mask painters, custom radius demos, and goalie schools. They’ve also got big giveaways from CCM, Bauer, Brian’s, Vaughn, Warrior, True, Padskinz, Pro-Sharp, and many more. Plus, you can come say hi to the InGoal crew.

The Hockey Shop will also be offering special pricing for all goalies who attend the demo event for all regular priced goalie products and custom orders at our retail store 10025 King George Blvd, Surrey BC. Visit the TENDYFEST Facebook official event page to RSVP and follow The Hockey Shop on Instagram and Twitter for additional announcements as we get closer to May 27th, and if you have any questions about TendyFest 3 please email them at [email protected].
