Schneider Loads Up Devils Logos On New Mask

Cory Schneider New Jersey Devils 2013-14 Mask rightAfter the shocking trade that sent him from Vancouver to New Jersey, Cory Schneider needed a new look.

So he brainstormed with Swedish artist David Gunnarsson of DaveArt, and they came up with, “The Art of NJD,”

“Me and Cory brainstormed a lot during summer, we wanted to create something new, a totally new style with the NJD artworks,” Gunnarsson wrote on his Facebook page. “Our plan was a design that works from all angles, and a so called 2-in-1 design, a design that works both on a distance in the arenas, and close up in the TV cameras.”

The look blends big, bold logos from a distance with in-depth details that can be seen up close.

“At a first glimpse it’s an old-school design, and when you come closer and closer a new dimension opens up and the design transforms into a new design in front of your eyes,” Gunnarsson wrote.

It was among the first of many 2-in-1 looks Gunnarsson created for NHL goalies this summer.

You can check them all out in the InGoal mask pages, and find more of Gunnarsson’s great artwork on both his website and on his Twitter feed. For now, though, see what details you can find from these close ups of Schneider’s mask:
