
Vaughn CHL Goalie of the Week: Moncton’s Alex Dubeau

Alex Dubeau of the Moncton Wildcats was named the Vaughn Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Week after winning all three starts, including one shutout, a goals-against-average of 1.00, and a save percentage of .962.
Dubeau stopped 76 shots over the three games, helping the Wildcats extend their winning-streak to eight games. His week was highlighted by his league-leading fourth shutout of the season on Friday night, making 21 saves in a 5-0 win over Acadie-Bathurst. Earlier the 18-year-old from Mascouche, Quebec made 26 saves as Second Star of a 6-1 victory over P.E.I., and he closed out his award-winning week Sunday with a 29-save performance as part of a 6-2 win over the Quebec Remparts.
Dubeau, is playing his third Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season, but first with the Wildcats after two seasons with Memorial Cup champion Shawinigan. He is 23-12-1-0 in Moncton with a 2.80 goals-against-average and a .893 save percentage.
Also considered for the award this week was Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Garret Sparks of the Guelph Storm after going 2-1-0-0 with a shutout, a 1.33 goals-against-average and a .957 save percentage, and 2013 NHL Draft prospect Tristan Jarry of the Edmonton Oil Kings, who won both his starts with one shutout, a goals against of 0.98 and a save percentage of .952.
